On October 22, 2019, a meeting of companies interested in participating in the InterMarE South Baltic project took place. Baltic Sea & Space Cluster is a partner supporting project participants. The project leader is the Gdańsk International Fair. InterMarE South Baltic aims to integrate the SMEs of the South Baltic Region operating in the maritime industry and strengthen its potential. An information meeting took place in the Gdańsk International Fair, during which we met the nearest initiatives that will be implemented as part of this project. ” InterMarE creates great opportunities dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises, which, developing as local businesses, can start operations and grow internationally.” said Magnus Olsson from Blue Science Park from Karlskrona, guest of the meeting. The InterMarE project is to combine the activities of maritime companies and institutions from the South Baltic area and build their brand. This is to enable the strengthening of the position of small and medium-sized companies on the regional and global market. A special database will be available next month to allow InterMarE members to reach a wider maritime business group, ‘said Magdalena Magdzińska, project leader. From the point of view of the Polish maritime economy, it is important for as many Polish enterprises as possible to participate in the broadly understood supply chain for offshore wind energy – said Mariusz Witoński, president of the board of the Polish Offshore Wind Energy Association.
