Construction of the Ferry Terminal at the Port of Gdynia
On September 9 this year, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the Public Ferry Terminal at the Port of Gdynia. The concept of the foundation stone in the form of an anchor which is a replica of the one who was on board the MS Pilsudski, notes that the construction of the Port of Gdynia and the development of maritime trade belonged to the strategic goals of reviving the Second Republic. The new terminal will be able to accept 240-meter ferries. The time associated with calling at a port will be shortened.
The construction of the Public Ferry Terminal is the largest investment in the port of Gdynia for nearly 50 years. The works include, among others, construction of a ferry terminal with a cubature of 30,000. m3 and a warehouse of 7,000 m3, reconstruction of quays with a length of about 600 meters, as well as construction of squares and parking lots with a total size of 65 thousand. m2. DORACO will perform a railway connection between quays, reconstruction of existing road systems and other infrastructure works. 2,000 tons of steel will be used to build the terminal, as well as 20,000 m³ of concrete.
