Ambassador Grzegorz Marek Poznanski – Director General of its Secretariat as of 1 September 2020

The Council of the Baltic Sea States has appointed Ambassador Grzegorz Marek Poznanski Director General of its Secretariat as of 1 September 2020. Ambassador Poznanski, a Polish national, will succeed the current Director General, Ambassador Maira Mora, who completes her tenure in August.

On behalf of the Danish CBSS Presidency, Ambassador Ove Ullerup, Chair of the CBSS Committee of Senior Officials, welcomes the appointment and says: “We look to Ambassador Poznanski to provide strong leadership in implementing the important reforms agreed by the Council and confirmed at the meeting of CBSS Foreign Ministers last month.”

Consisting of 11 Member States (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia & Sweden), as well as the European Union, the CBSS supports a global perspective on regional problems. These include politically and practically translating the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Climate Agreement, the Sendai Framework on Disaster Risk Reduction, the Palermo Protocol and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, into regional actions on the ground.
