Port of Gdansk purchased and delivered to Odessa medical equipment

The Port of Gdansk Authority SA purchased and delivered to Odessa medical equipment, power generators, power banks and laptops.

The Port of Gdansk received from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health a list of necessary drugs and medical equipment, including defibrillators and resuscitators. The transport from Gdańsk left on March 4. He arrived in Odessa after two days.

Gdańsk’s contacts with Odessa have a very long history. Its origins date back to the end of the 90’s. In recent years, cooperation has developed significantly. There are plans to create a Gdańsk-Odessa transport corridor. A letter of intent was signed on mutual cooperation between the Port of Gdansk Authority and the Administration of the Seaports of Ukraine in October 2020.

The Port of Gdansk decided to exempt Polska Żegluga Bałtycka SA from the passenger charge. Polferries ferries carry Ukrainian refugees to Sweden free of charge on the basis of presented documents. The collection of gifts for Ukraine is carried out by the Filippus organization in cooperation with Polferries at the ferry terminal.

The Port of Gdansk Authority signed a tripartite agreement with Caritas of the Archdiocese of Gdansk and the Kador company. Kador provides Caritas with a warehouse. Parcels with aid for Ukraine are stored in the warehouse.
