Nauta Shipyard Gdynia – Rusadir ro-pax sailed to the Mediterranean Sea

Rusadir sailed from the Nauta Remontowa Shipyard. It is a modern ferry that was undergoing work in Gdynia before entering into operation by the operator Balearia. The ferry will operate a service between Malaga and Melilla. A ro-pax ship operates on dual-fuel engines, e.g. can be gas powered. It has an electric drive. It can take up to 1,800 passengers.

The ship was built at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft on the order of Brittany Ferries. The UK-France service was due to enter in 2019. The shipyard had financial problems and numerous delays in production. This in turn led to Brittany Ferries withdrawing from the contract. In 2020, the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft shipyard collapsed. The ferry was towed to the Norwegian shipyard Fosen Yard. In Norway the ship was completed. Then he was sent to Gdynia.
