GALATEA Project – Guide for funding opportunities for SME

Guide for funding opportunities intends to present funding opportunities for SMEs on GALATEA topics (smart port, smart shipyard, smart ship, maritime surveillance) in Europe and in the Consortium members countries. Sustainability of supported SMEs aims to provide SMEs with tools to ensure the successful continuation of their projects developed under GALATEA.

GALATEA_Guide for Funding Opportunities-1

Horizon Europe1 takes over from Horizon 2020 as the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation from 2021 to 2027. With a budget of 95.5 billion euros, the objective of the programme is to fund collaborative and thematic innovations through a 4 pillars organisation:
➢ Excellent science;
➢ Global challenges and European industrial competitiveness;
➢ Innovative Europe;
➢ Widening participation and strengthening the European research area.
This guide will focus on the 2nd and the 3rd pillars as they are those targeting companies and notably SMEs. This guide focus on 4 of the 6 clusters structuring the 2nd pillar are the target of numerous calls for projects within the GALATEA scope:
➢ Cluster 3: Civil security for society;
➢ Cluster 4: Digital, industry and space;
➢ Cluster 5: Climate, energy and mobility;
➢ Cluster 6: Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment.
