ESG reporting for the maritime industry – hidden bottom?

Due to the fact that more and more emotions in the maritime industry are caused by ESG reporting, this publication will analyze in detail the regulations regarding corporate reporting in the field of sustainable development.

It is worth noting that in practice this issue may concern every entrepreneur making transactions in the EU. The argument for introducing changes to corporate reporting on sustainable development was the need to achieve the objectives of the European Green Deal.

Action Plan on Financing Sustainable Growth and the Paris Agreement. However, a thorough analysis of the introduced changes allows us to conclude that the above has become a pretext for much broader reporting, which in our opinion may become a threat to the reporting entities themselves.

This second bottom line of ESG reporting appears to be quite disturbing in the context of the constant problem with the lack of regulation, e.g. Big Data.
