The University of Gdańsk will cooperate with the Polish Shipping Register S.A.

Cybersecurity, Offshore Wind Energy, Polish Nuclear Power Plants, quantum technologies – these are the areas of cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and the Polish Shipping Register S.A.

Prof. Sylwia Mrozowska, Vice-Rector for Cooperation and Development of the University of Gdańsk, and Jacek Witt, Member of the Management Board of the Polish Shipping Register S.A.  signed the agreement on May 13 this year. at the headquarters of the Polish Shipping Register.

PRS and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science are initiating cooperation that would result in innovations in the field of cybersecurity, including: for the developing Offshore Wind Energy sector – says Prof. Sylwia Mrozowska.

UG and PRS will create tools for analyzing and simulating the behavior of vessels, installations and industrial equipment. Joint projects are planned in the areas of cybersecurity at sea and on land, including the use of quantum technologies.

PRS, as a certifying institution, has great potential and experience to implement projects related to offshore wind energy and hydrogen energy – says Jacek Witt, acting president of the management board of PRS.

Prof. Marcin Marciniak, Vice-Dean for Science of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science, will be on the Technical Council of the Polish Shipping Register S.A.
