Session of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. Course for a safe Baltic Sea

The away session of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Climate and Environment Committee of the Senate of the Republic of Poland was held in Gdynia on September 2, 2024. The Baltic Sea will be a gigantic power plant.
The Baltic Sea is a sea that is polluted by wrecks and chemicals. The Baltic Sea is becoming a dead sea. The Scientific Baltic Fleet is being created to conduct scientific research. The concept of the Baltic Center for Monitoring and Research of the Marine Environment was created
The session was opened jointly by the Marshal of the Senate – Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Chairman of the Climate and Environment Committee – Senator Stanisław Gawłowski, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee – Senator Grzegorz Schetyna. The deliberations were led by the Senators chairing the Committee: Grzegorz Schetyna and Stanisław Gawłowski.
– The Baltic Sea has always been our window to the world, but now it is also one of the pillars of our security, not only in the economic aspect, but also in the military and energy aspect – said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka – responsible for maritime economy, water management and inland navigation.
– I would like to refer to the words of the Marshal, that Gdynia is a city of dreams and the sea. Mr. Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski also said that Gdynia and the sea are one. And here, my task as the host of the city is to emphasize and remind about it – emphasized Aleksandra Kosiorek – the mayor of Gdynia.
