SEA-EU Governing Week in Malta

Meeting of representatives of European universities participating in the SEA EU project In November took place. The Business Supporting Member of SEA EU is the Baltic Sea and Space Cluster.
The meeting was organized by the University of Malta. Current international projects and achievements of the University of Malta were presented by Prof. Alfred J. Vella, Rector of the University of Malta. During the general session,
Prof. Marceli Iglesias was elected as the new General Coordinator. Advanced educational initiatives such as the MEDPORTS course and the SEA-EU film series and the potential of joint degrees were presented. The results of the Arctic expedition led by the University of Gdańsk were presented.
The joint commitment of the academic staff of SEA-EU universities to environmental and marine research was emphasized. Cooperation agreements in educational activities were signed for the successful implementation of the programs.

The event closed with the handover ceremony from the University of Malta to the University of Kiel, with Ralph Schnider preparing to organize the next Governing Week, scheduled for June 3-5, 2025, in Kiel. This transition symbolizes the ongoing commitment and collaborative spirit that defines SEA-EU, as it continues to push the boundaries of academic excellence and international cooperation.
