Unmanned Military Vehicles from HYDROMEGA and WAT
By Marek Grzybowski
Contemporary conflicts have shown that on the modern battlefield, a soldier must operate with the support of unmanned vehicles. Unmanned systems have been used for many years by the army, police, border protection services, and the Coast Guard. HYDROMEGA has joined the process of research and construction of modern mobile systems, which are designed at the Military University of Technology. Military mobile systems not only save soldiers from injury but also increase the effectiveness of tactical operations.
2025 will mark 20 years since Hydromega signed a cooperation agreement with the Military University of Technology in Warsaw. The company and the WAT Mobile Robot Center have years of good cooperation behind them.
During the implementation of joint projects, competences in the design and production of heavy vehicles were jointly developed. The portfolio of both institutions includes unmanned robot designs intended for special tasks. The WAT Mobile Robot Center has the potential and possibilities for their further development.
Zbigniew Zienowicz, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hydromega says: “In this jubilee year, I would like to thank the Mobile Robots Center of the Military University of Technology for the joint implementation of difficult mobile projects. I would also like to thank ITE – Radom, PIT-Poznań, IO-Kraków (currently the Krakow Institute of Technology). I would also like to thank CNBOP – PIB, WICHiR, WB – Electronics, which belong to the Łukasiewicz Research Network, for their cooperation.
