His Magnificence Rector Prof. Dr. Hab. Eng. Capt. Adam Weintrit participated in the celebration of the Navy Hydrographic Office Day. The celebrations took place at the Navy Museum on February 19, 2025. The Polish Hydrographic Office was established 105 years ago.
The guests were welcomed by the Head of the Hydrographic Office of the Navy, Acting Commander Dariusz Beczek. After the official part, a lecture was given by retired Cadm. Dr. Eng. Czesław Dyrcz, entitled “The Hydrographic Office of the Navy in the Quest for a Better Understanding of Our Sea”.
The Hydrographic Office in Poland was established on February 19, 1920. It was one of the first offices of the Polish maritime administration. The Hydrographic Office was part of the Polish Navy. The first head of the Hydrographic Office in 1920 was Capt. Mar. Józef Unrug. ORP “Pomorzanin” was the first hydrographic ship of the Polish Navy.
