Port of Gdańsk – a strong market position in the first half of 2025

The Port of Gdańsk handled over 38.3 million tons of cargo in the first half of 2025, representing a 0.4% increase compared to the first half of the previous year. Crude oil, products, and liquid fuels account for the largest share of imported cargo. Transshipments from container ships account for 50% of the Port of Gdańsk’s total cargo volume.
General cargo transshipment, primarily in containers, increased by 12% to 13 million tons. General cargo supply at container terminals increased by 14%. Quay cranes at container terminals transshipped 11.6 million tons of containerized cargo. MSC launched a new service to the Port of Gdańsk in the first half of 2025. MSC Britannia and MSC Albatros operate regular services to ports in China, South Korea, and Vietnam.
The Port of Gdańsk Authority achieved a 56% profitability on sales of services. After the first half of 2025, the Port of Gdańsk Authority has a net profit of PLN 179.6 million. This represents a 40% increase compared to the first half of 2024.
