Port of Gdańsk – LEGO Harbor Tugboat Online Voting

By Marek Grzybowski

Eryk Żegliński, a 22-year-old sailor who sails a tugboat in the Port of Gdańsk, recreated his ship out of LEGO bricks. The ARES tugboat model could enter official LEGO production if it receives 10,000 votes.

The sailor built this miniature tugboat model from 1,298 LEGO bricks. The ship is reproduced at a scale of 1:125. The Ares tugboat model measures 27 cm long, 11 cm wide, and 25 cm high. It took the sailor about six months to build the model. The sailor works on the tugboat at the Port of Gdańsk.

Eryk is a graduate of the Maritime School Complex in Gdańsk, where he majored in maritime navigation. He has been building LEGO models since the age of 6. He has won three national LEGO competitions. He built a LEGO town at the age of 10.

The Ares Tugboat model features movable components, such as azimuth thrusters and adjustable water cannons. This equipment allows for simulating the operations of a real, large tugboat.

If the Ares tugboat model from the Port of Gdańsk receives 10,000 votes on the LEGO Ideas platform, it has a chance of being officially produced.
