New transshipment berths will be built at the Naftoport Terminal in the Port of Gdańsk. The terminal will be able to accommodate the largest tankers transiting the Danish Straits. Transshipment capacity for crude oil and products will increase by approximately 9 million tons per year. The fuel terminal at the Port of Gdańsk will be built by the Polish company Doraco, experienced in building seaport terminals.

The Polish PERN Group owns the Naftoport terminal. It is the only Polish maritime terminal for transshipment of crude oil and crude oil products. The terminal supplies raw materials to Polish and German refineries. Approximately 40 million tons of crude oil and fuels are transshipped annually at the Naftoport terminal in Gdańsk.

Zarząd Portu sfinansuje budowę nabrzeża i prace czerpalne. Zarząd Naftoport sfinansuje pompy, rurociągi i instalacje. Ogólny koszt inwestycji wyniesie 455 mln zł.

Naftoport’s new transshipment berth will be versatile. Once built, the pumps and pipelines will be used for transshipment of crude oil. In the future, it will be possible to pump future fuels, such as ammonia, methanol, and liquid CO2, into Gdańsk. The terminal will be able to accommodate all types of tankers that may enter the Baltic Sea.

The new transshipment berth at Naftoport will accommodate VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers) exceeding 300 meters in length and with a draft of up to 15 meters. The terminal will be able to handle the simultaneous transshipment of four tankers. The project is scheduled for completion in the second half of 2028, in line with the established schedule.
