STORM, a Joint Master to become The Sustainable Manager of The Future

Six universities have developed a unique international Sustainability Management Master’s Degree that educates future managers to be capable of building a sustainable future. It teaches knowledge and skills from the fields of natural sciences, humanities and management.
STORM is co-created by 6 European universities: University of Brest (France), the University of Malta, the University of Cádiz (Spain), the University of Split (Croatia), the University of Gdańsk (Poland), and Nord University (Norway).

Why STORM?
In the face of major societal and environmental challenges, organisations play a key role in minimising human impact on the planet. The STORM Master’s programme trains future leaders to drive sustainable transformation through critical analysis and innovative management approaches. By integrating hands-on experiences that reconnect them with nature, students gain a deeper awareness of global challenges and their impact on organisations.
👩🏫 Innovative Learning Methods
The courses will be taught by faculty members from all partner universities, each an expert in their field, offering students an transdisciplinary and intercultural programme of excellence.
💼 Professional Experience
Students will apply their knowledge through an internship or a research project in one of the six partner countries. Throughout the programme, conferences and company visits will enhance professional immersion and networking opportunities.
🇬🇧 English programme
STORM, the International Sustainability Management Programme is fully taught in English, it has been developped by 6 prestigious European universities of the SEA-EU Alliance.
🌏 Immersive International Exposure
Students will study in at least two SEA-EU universities during the Master’s Degree, starting with the University of Brest (France) starting in September 2025.
🌊 Reconnecting with nature
Students will be faced with experiences to help them reconnect with Nature, an essential step in raising awareness of the global challenges that affect all organisations.

The STORM the international sustainability management Master’s Degree equips students with the essential skills to help organisations navigate and adapt to global challenges.

- Environmental Sustainability – Implementing strategies to reduce carbon footprints, optimise resource use, and minimise waste.
- Risk Anticipation – Preparing for potential crises, learning from past events, and establishing effective management frameworks.
- Innovation & Adaptation – Developing sustainable products and services, integrating clean technologies, and responding to environmental changes.
- Governance & Transparency – Building strong, transparent governance structures to uphold sustainability commitments.
- Cohesion & Solidarity – Strengthening collective action, fostering collaboration, and maintaining social bonds in times of adversity.
- Continuous Learning & Transformation – Drawing insights from crises to evolve and enhance organisational resilience.
- Strategic Resilience – To prepare for and respond to challenges of all kinds, including those linked to the climate crisis.
By mastering these skills, STORM graduates will be equipped to drive meaningful change and shape a more sustainable future.
- Embracing nature: demonstrate a holistic understanding of the natural world, oceans in particular, as well as the interplay between human activities and the natural world.
- Management: identify and evaluate the motives, reasons, causes and consequences of the management process and functions in an uncertain world.
- “The frame” – contexte: Identify and analyse relevant external factors on sustainability (including political economy, and regulatory frameworks) at societal, organisational and managerial levels.
- “The picture” – Intra organisational dynamics and resilience: Recognise features of the organisational ecosystem and internal dynamics, and assess relationships, based on the principles of good governance to build organisational resilience.
- Sustainability management futures: Critically analyse mainstream management concepts, discuss scenarios and create collective visions for more sustainable approaches in organisations.
