SQUADRON ASE GROUP has joined the development of the MALLARD project – unmanned freight transport

By Marek Grzybowski
The MALLARD project is being developed by SQUADRON ASE GROUP, together with MBF Group SA and the Polish Industrial Lobby. It is the first unmanned cargo aircraft system in Poland. Its goal is to build an aircraft that will enable regular, unmanned cargo transport. This can be accomplished faster, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly than traditional cargo aircraft.

The solutions implemented in the project enable full automation of the planning, loading, and execution of flights to remote areas. The drone will be able to deliver cargo to remote Arctic regions, to deserts, and to remote islands. The drone is intended to deliver goods wherever a crewed aircraft cannot or does not need to reach.
The project involves the construction of new networks of air logistics corridors. MALLARD could be one of the first systems in Europe to enable air deliveries without pilot intervention, aligning with the global trend of transport automation and CO₂ emission reduction. The drone is expected to be used by the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
It will be possible to use a fleet of drones for humanitarian deliveries to areas isolated due to armed conflict or natural disasters.
