JABO shipyard built a catamaran for the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management

The JABO shipyard constructed a catamaran for the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management using the “design and build” formula. The Cumulus survey vessel is an 18-meter-long, 9.2-meter-wide catamaran with an aluminum hull.

The vessel has a large work deck at the stern. Its autonomous operation allows for four days of research and support work. With a fuel reserve, the vessel can cover a range of up to 400 nautical miles. The vessel has a crew of four.

The catamaran was designed and built in Poland with full local content. The Seatech Engineering design office prepared the vessel’s technical design and the detailed design of the hull and equipment. Engineers from the JABO shipyard developed the interior design and electrical systems.

The catamaran was built at the shipyard under the supervision of the Polish Register of Shipping. The model vessel underwent trials in the model pool of the Ship Technology Center in Gdańsk. Engineers from the Ship Technology Center confirmed that the design fully met the client’s expectations.
