141 million tons of goods were transshipped in Polish ports, at general cargo, bulk, and liquid cargo terminals in 2025. This is almost 5 million tons more than in 2024. Poland increased imports through the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. Imports by LNG tankers increased by 32 percent year-on-year. There was a 10 percent increase in general cargo transshipment and a 9 percent increase in other bulk cargo.

Transshipment at Polish container terminals in 2025 reached 3.9 million TEU, an 18% increase compared to 2024. At the Port of Gdynia, the growth rate reached 5% at the BCT and GCT terminals. The Baltic Hub in Gdańsk increased transshipment by 23%. The DB Port Szczecin terminal increased its turnover by 25% in 2025 compared to the previous year and for the first time transshipped over 100,000 TEU in a single year.
Terminals operating at the Szczecin-Świnoujście ports saw record increases in container throughput in 2025. Container throughput increased by over 46% already in the first half of 2025. The increase in container supply at both ports was approximately 44% throughout 2025. The increased container supply in 2025 was the result of the activity of Eimskip – OT Port Świnoujście‘s liner service to European ports.

The Baltic Hub handled a total of 2,767,287 TEU. The terminal, operating within the PSA International network, handled 763 vessels. Ocean connections with Asia and Western European ports were served by 265 vessels.
In 2025, the seaports in Gdańsk, Gdynia, Szczecin, and Świnoujście saw investments financed by the Polish government (approximately PLN 2 billion), the EU, and private transshipment terminal operators.
“These activities will continue in 2026. The state budget earmarks a record amount of nearly PLN 3 billion for the maritime economy, 49.5% more than in 2025,” said Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Arkadiusz Marchewka in an interview with Mateusz Kowalewski, editor-in-chief of GospodarkaMorska.pl.
