PGZ Stocznia Wojenna – Rescue ship Ratownik – keel-laying ceremony

The ceremonial keel-laying ceremony for the rescue ship Ratownik   took place on February 4, 2026 at PGZ Stocznia Wojenna.

The keel-laying ceremony for the rescue vessel Ratownik was attended by representatives of the highest Polish authorities, the Polish Army and Navy, and representatives of the Polish Maritime Cluster. In attendance were Stanisław Wziątek, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, Konrad Gołota, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Maritime Agency, Vice Admiral Jarosław Ziemiański, Inspector of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jarosław Wypijewski, representing the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, and Jan J. Grabowski, Vice President of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A.

The production plan anticipates delivery of the “Ratownik” in the fourth quarter of 2029. Launching is scheduled for 2027. The ship will be 95 meters long, 18.8 meters wide, and have a draft of 5 meters. It will have a maximum displacement of 6,000 tons. It will have a crew of approximately 110 officers and sailors.

The vessel will be equipped with unmanned surface and underwater vehicles, as well as a landing pad for helicopters and drones. The ship’s equipment will include a hyperbaric complex with decompression chambers, a diving bell, and systems enabling cooperation with the NATO Submarine Rescue System (NSRS). This equipment will enable the ship to conduct rescue operations at depths of up to 300 meters and operate for several dozen days without the need for replenishment. The vessel will also feature navigation and underwater systems, as well as launchable fast flat-bottom boats and unmanned underwater vehicles, both remote and autonomous, designed to monitor and inspect the seabed.
