French frigate “Chevalier Paul” visits Gdynia

The air defense frigate Chevalier Paul docked at the Port of Gdynia on Thursday, February 26. She is participating in NATO operations in the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea. In Gdynia it is rest time for the crew.

The air defense frigate Chevalier Paul is 150 meters long and displaces over 7,000 tons. The Chevalier Paul is a Horizon-class frigate, known in France as the Forbin-class. The ship’s crew includes 220 officers and sailors, who ensure the operation of the ship’s engines, navigation systems, and weapons systems.

Air defence frigate “Chevalier Paul” Commander Jean-Ythier Verly invited special guests on board – Honorary Consul of France in Pomerania Alain Mompert, President Aleksandra Kosiorek and representatives of the Polish Navy.

We are happy to spend a few days in Gdynia to recuperate and visit the Tricity area. I am convinced that thanks to your hospitality, we will feel perfectly at home here,” says Jean-Ythier Verly, commander of the frigate Chevalier Paul, reports Gdynia.pl.
