Crist Offshore has begun construction of an offshore power station

By Marek Grzybowski
CRIST Offshore has begun production of the offshore power station for the BC-Wind project. Production began with a symbolic ceremony marking the first sheet metal burning of the offshore structure element.
This marks the official start of production of the structural elements necessary to transmit power from the offshore wind farm’s generators.
The BC-Wind project is being implemented after Ocean Winds obtained an investment decision (FID) and issued a Notice to Proceed (NTP).
BC-Wind is Ocean Winds’ first project in the Baltic Sea. The offshore power station will weigh approximately 2,000 tons. The platform will house all the power systems used to process power from the offshore wind farm’s generators and transmit it to the onshore transformer.
