Crist SA shipyard IVY production begins construction of the Fehmarnbelt tunnel

By Marek Grzybowski
Femern Link Contractors (FLC) has begun preparations for the immersion of the first tunnel section off the coast of Lolland. The tunnel section will be placed on the seabed in April of this year. Fehmarn will connect Denmark (Lolland) and Germany (Fehmarn).

The NB100 consists of two pontoons – named IVY1 and IVY2 by the shipowner. The vessel was built at the Crist SA shipyard in 2024. It is a 100-meter floating structure. Assembly of the tunnel elements will be accomplished by transporting the tunnel section and lowering it to the seabed. The NB100 is one of the most complex vessels built in Polish shipyards.
