AMW UAV Forum – Drones, Industry, Security Capacity Building

The AMW UAV Forum took place on April 15, 2026, at the Naval Academy in Gdynia. The conference was attended by representatives of the Polish Army and Navy, managers from the arms industry, scientists and designers from universities, research institutes and centers, military universities, and representatives of public administration. The international dimension of the conference was enhanced by its networking and exchange of the latest information on the design, production, and use of drones, industry, and security capacity building. Knowledge and experiences from the LivingLab and Capacity Building activities implemented within the BLUEDOTH 
project were also incorporated.
The international nature of the conference stemmed from the fact that the panels referenced knowledge derived from direct contacts and research on the production and use of drones in the wars in the Black Sea and Ukraine, drone captures in the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, and attacks on critical infrastructure in the Baltic Sea region. That is why today was one of the most important international conferences this year, focused on setting directions for the development of unmanned systems for operation in peacetime and during armed conflicts.
The drone forum discussion panel featured a strong emphasis on the dual use of drones. The need to build flexible design and industrial capabilities capable of producing unmanned systems that can be quickly adapted to changing conditions on the battlefield, on land, at sea, in the air, and in space was emphasized.
During the conference, the important role of the human factor in the processes of designing, producing and using drones was highlighted. The role of the human factor, leveraging new technologies, including VR, IoT, satellite systems, and artificial intelligence, is particularly crucial. It’s crucial to refine the human-technology interface, coordinating reconnaissance, decisions, and actions under time constraints and in dynamically changing situations. Critical infrastructure protection and defense require combining human capabilities with AI and VR technologies in areas such as image reconnaissance, target classification, mission planning, decision-making, and the execution of operational and tactical tasks.
The ARMA Forum was proposed as a collaborative platform, where entities with design, production, and end-user capabilities should operate in the form of a DRON FORUM HUB. The ARMA Forum is an expert platform integrating military, industrial, scientific, and administrative communities. The ARMA Forum will host regular meetings, share experiences, and develop strategic recommendations for the development of unmanned systems and defense technologies.
The ARMA Forum is intended to be a space where discussions about unmanned systems will be transformed into guidelines for the long-term architecture of security, industry, and technology in Poland.
The AMW UAV Forum is held under the honorary patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski, Minister of State Assets Wojciech Bałczun, Pomeranian Voivode Beata Rutkiewicz, Head of the National Security Bureau Prof. Sławomir Cenckiewicz, Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczysław Struk, and Mayor of Gdynia Aleksandra Kosiorek.
