GdaÅ„sk University of Technology – unmanned inspection vehicle for monitoring critical infrastructure.

The unmanned underwater vehicle was developed by Gdańsk University of Technology in collaboration with RADMOR S.A., a member of the WB GROUP. The UUV completed a set of missions that resulted in the discovery of two underwater objects. Cameras and sonar were used to identify the objects found underwater. The UUV was designed and built in five months.

The successful “Piranha” mission confirms that GdaÅ„sk University of Technology can create specific solutions that address current critical infrastructure security needs. The UUV is the result of collaboration between the university and industry on a technical project of significant practical importance, says Professor Krzysztof Wilde, Rector of GdaÅ„sk University of Technology. The underwater vehicle was developed by a team of scientists led by Tomasz Sauer, Head of the Deep Sea Technology Laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology.
