Port of Gdańsk – total cargo volume reached 20.9 million tonnes in Q1 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, the total volume of cargo handled at the Port of Gdańsk terminals, including fuel, bulk, and containerized goods, reached 20.9 million tonnes. This represents a 13.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Liquid fuels account for 47.7% of the total cargo volume handled at the Port of Gdansk. Approximately 10 million tons of these were handled in the first quarter of 2026. This represents a 7% increase compared to the first quarter of the previous year.

In the first three months of 2026, 761,896 TEU were transshipped between container terminal quays and ships. This represented a 22 percent increase. In terms of tonnage, the supply of containerized goods exceeded 6.5 million tons, a 17.2 percent increase. General cargo transshipment increased by a total of 15.7%, reaching a level of over 7.2 million tonnes.

Coal transshipment reached nearly 2 million tons. A record increase in supply was recorded in ore transshipment, up 111 percent. High growth rates were recorded in timber transshipment (+89 percent) and grain transshipment (+21 percent).
