MSC Venice 400 m container ship at Port Gdynia Baltic Container Terminal

The MSC Venice, a 400 m long and 54 m wide container ship, arrived at the Port of Gdynia Baltic Container Terminal. The MSC Venice container ship has been at the berth at the Baltic Container Terminal since the morning of Friday, July 24. It is the first ship of this size to enter the Port of Gdynia.
The Port of Gdynia Authority, the Maritime Office in Gdynia and the Navy cooperated to deepen the port waters to 15.5 metres and widen the port entrance to 140 metres. The Port of Gdynia Authority modernized the Hel Quay at the terminal, and the Baltic Container Terminal installed new STS cranes for container handling.
The MSC Venice has a cargo capacity of 16,652 TEU. It has a top speed of 23 knots. It is 399 meters long and 54 meters wide. The ship has a maximum draft of 16 meters. It boasts a gross tonnage of 176,490. The container ship has a height from keel to masthead of 71.11 meters, comparable to a 22-25-story apartment building.
