Norwegian Consulate in Gdynia – change of the consul
Weronika Haustein replaced the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway Michał Rzeszewicz, who has held this position since 2005. Weronika Haustein is the first woman in Poland who will be the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway. The ceremony of ending the consular mission and taking over the duties took place on May 9 at the headquarters of the Norwegian company DNV GL in Gdynia. Great personalities, representatives of local governments took part in it. Gdynia was represented by Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała, vice president of the management of the economy.
Michał Rzeszewicz is a long-term legal counsel who runs the maritime law firm MAR-LAW in Gdynia. Specialist in the field of Polish and European maritime law and international law of the sea. The maritime arbiter since 1982, currently the vice-president of the International Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Maritime Economy in Gdynia. Advisor in the composition of government delegations to international conferences IMO in London and UNCTAD in Geneva in the field of law and maritime transport. Former chairman of the Polish Maritime Law Association, affiliated with the International Maritime Committee (CMI) based in Antwerp. Member of the Maritime Law Codification Commission operating in the years 1987-1999. Deputy Chairwoman of the Maritime Law Codification Commission for the term 2007-2011 and for the term of office until 2015. Member of the board of the European Maritime Law Organization based in London since 2005.
Weronika Haustein graduated from law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. In the years 2005-2006 she also studied at the Faculty of Law of the Ruprecht-Karola University in Heidelberg. She completed legal training at the District Chamber of Legal Advisors in Gdańsk. He is one of the founding members of the Polish Maritime Law Association.
He has been working in the Office since 2006. She focuses her interests on civil law, especially on transport law. She is fluent in German and English. She also graduated from the School of German Law organized by the Law Faculty of the University of Cologne and the University of Gdańsk as well as the summer law school at the International Court of the Law of the Sea in Hamburg. She is a lecturer in transport law at the faculty of logistics at the School of Banking in Gdańsk.
Wieloletniego Konsula Honorowego Królestwa Norwegii w Gdyni Michała Rzeszewicza zastąpiła Weronika Haustein. Jest pierwszą kobietą w Polsce, która będzie pełnić funkcję Konsul Honorowej Królestwa Norwegii. Uroczystość zakończenia misji konsularnej i przejęcia obowiązków odbyła się 9 maja w siedzibie norweskiej firmy DNV GL w Gdyni. Wzięły w niej udział znamienite osobistości, przedstawiciele samorządów. Gdynię reprezentowała Katarzyna Gruszecka-Spychała, wiceprezydent ds.gospodarki. Weronika Haustein zastąpiła na stanowisku Konsula Honorowego Królestwa Norwegii Michała Rzeszewicza, który pełnił tę funkcję od 2005 roku. Radca prawny, specjalistka od prawa transportowego jest pierwszą kobietą w Polsce na stanowisku Konsul Honorowej Królestwa Norwegii.
