Competition on sea container connections to change
10 European organizations related to transport call on the European Commission to review the rules of competition in maritime transport. European and international business organizations, including associations of shippers and port and terminal operators, expect the European Commission to focus in particular on breaking monopoly activities in container transport.
– Find a simple and easy way to apply state support measures to the development of sustainable freight transport services. Clear rules and transparent and equal market access for each beneficiary must be guaranteed, said Charley Schultze, President of UIRR, in a statement by Union for Road-Rail Combined Transport.
The Rail-Road Combined Transport Union looks forward to the revision of the Combined Transport Directive. The amendment of the directive should define the forms and scope of financial and non-financial state aid.
