“Głuptak” ROV for equipping “Kormoran II” minehunters

The “Głuptak” ROV will be equipped with three “Kormoran II” minehunters. These will be ORP “Jaskółka”, “Rybitwa” and “Czajka”. Minehunters Ministry of National Defense ordered in June 2022.

The agreement was signed by prof. Janusz Nieznański, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Innovation PG, and the Research and Development Center of Centrum Techniki Morskiej (OBR CTM) S.A. President Marcin Wisniewski. The signing of the agreement took place in the presence of representatives of the Armament Agency and the Naval Inspectorate of the General Command of the Armed Forces, Cmdr. Piotr Skóra and Cmdr. Grzegorz Mucha.

– The vehicles as well as the entire Głuptak ROV systems are developed and built at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Ship Technology and delivered to the Polish Navy. They have been made by the Center for Security and Defense Technologies of the Gdańsk University of Technology for a decade – said Vice-Rector Prof. Janusz Nieznański. We are proud that the structures and technologies developed at our university are recognized by the Polish Navy.
