The modernization of the Helskie Quay is underway. The reconstruction of the Port of Gdynia quay will increase the efficiency of ship handling and enable the reception of larger vessels. The Port of Gdynia will be able to receive large container ships, ro-ro ships and general cargo ships. The investment value is approximately PLN 300 million gross. The renovation processes are planned for a period of 26 months.
– After modernization, the largest ships entering the Baltic Sea will be berthed to the Port of Gdynia – said Jacek Sadaj, president of the Port of Gdynia Management Board.
The modernization of Nabrzeże Helskie I and Nabrzeże Oksywie includes a thorough reconstruction over a length of approximately 800 meters. Hydrotechnical works are performed by the DORACO Construction Corporation. Sanitary, electrical, power and telecommunications infrastructure will be replaced. A new concrete surface with a drainage system will be built.
The project is being implemented in 2 stages. After the reconstruction, the quay will be able to handle ships 400 m long and 60 m wide.
