Pomeranian Traffic Research

Pomeranian Voivodeship, the Marshal’s Office commissioned traffic studies in the region. The number of passenger cars, trucks and buses on the roads, passengers on trains and buses within two years will be examined.
Interviews with residents of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and tourists who will visit the Pomeranian Voivodeship will also be conducted. Such research would also be useful regarding maritime and inland transport. Data regarding passengers and tourists on ships will be collected from secondary sources in this case. The study is carried out to forecast the functioning of transport in the Pomeranian Voivodeship and to forecast the traffic volume in the coming years – until 2050.
Agreements were signed between the Pomeranian Regional Planning Office and the Center for EU Transport Projects, the Gdańsk-Gdynia-Sopot Metropolitan Area, the Gdańsk City Development Office, the Roads and Greenery Authority in Gdynia and the Spatial Planning Office of the City of Gdynia. These are the entities that are project partners.
The result of the research is to be the Pomeranian Traffic Model, which will facilitate the adaptation of public passenger transport to the needs of residents and tourists.
