BlueTech Expo 2019
IOSTIA is pleased to invite you to BlueTech Expo being held at the Newseum June 4 – 5, 2019.
The Technical Sessions will be held June 4th!
1) The Ocean Plastics and Marine Debris hot-topic session is moderated by Nancy Wallace, Director of the NOAA Marine Debris Program and covers the entire spectrum of ocean plastics challenges. We’re examining big corporation upstream efforts, to localized recovery projects, large ocean technologies, to testing approaches for new technology development. Our impressive speaker lineup include: Jeff Wooster, Global Sustainability Director, Dow Chemical Rachel Miller, Founder of the Rozalia Project Leonard Zabilansky, Program Manager for Ohmsett – National Oil Spill Response Research & Renewable Energy Test FacilityJeff Shattuck, CEO of Oceanamatica. 2) Ocean Autonomy takes center stage in 2019. Our first component of this half-day program focuses on autonomous platforms. Weaving throughout the sessions are the challenges of powering autonomous technology. In this case study-focused session, you will hear from two of leading manufacturers on the latest glider applications, shallow water bathymetry using AUV swarms, and a novel fuel cell powered AUV for persistent missions. Speakers for this session include: Whitney Million, CEO of Aquabotix Clara Hulburt, Sales Executive for Teledyne Webb Research Jacqueline Nichols, Electrical Engineer for Cellula Robotics, Ltd.Jake Sobin, Manager Science and Research for Kongsberg Underwater Technology. 3) One of the huge challenges in ocean tech is the ability to run long-duration missions. This particularly affects autonomous technology as current battery technologies severely restricts both range and duration. In the BlueTech Expo session on Long-Term Persistence and Seafloor Residency, our speakers tackle this and other tough topics with forward-learning novel technology solutions and vision. We hope you’ll join us to hear from industry leaders including: Chris Roper, Saabseaye, speaking on the Saab Sabertooth Seafloor Resident ROV/AUV Systems; David Mackay, Kongsberg Maritime, providing a early look on Eelume – a unique articulated subsea robot; Neil Manning, 3D at Depth, discussing real-time 3D technologies for optimized seafloor and infrastructure integrity. This exciting session will be moderated by Mike Wardlaw from ONR. 4) The final session is Ports and Harbors – Security & Survey. This session will have case study presentations and a panel discussion including:
ThayerMahan- Multi-Domain Sensor Integration and Deployment Methods for Enhanced Maritime Awareness – Presented by Steve Link, Director of Seabed Systems
Saab Seaeye – Seawasp – Advanced ROV-Based Port Security Applications – Presented by Chris Roper, Sales Manager N. America
DimEye – High Accuracy 3D Subsea Survey using HD video and Advanced Photogrammetry Software for Inspection – Arnauld Dumont, President
SPYRUS Solutions – Exercising Existing Technology to Mitigate Cyber Vulnerabilities Now and Into the Future – Daniel Turissini, CTO
Moderated by Jason Smith, Director for Legislative Affairs, National Security Council/USCG
