“Dar Młodzieży” The tallest Christmas tree in Gdynia and Gdańsk

A Christmas tree-shaped garland for the frigates of the Maritime University of Gdynia was lit jointly by the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk, prof. Ph.D. engineer captain Adam Weintrit, Mayor of Gdynia, Dr. Wojciech Szczurek, Commander of “Dar Młodzieży” Capt. With. w. His Majesty Rector of the Maritime University of Gdynia prof. Ph.D. engineer captain z.w. During the lighting ceremony of the Christmas lights on “Dar Młodzieży”, Adam Weintrit emphasized the frigate’s connection with its home port – Gdynia:
– This is the largest Christmas tree in Tricity. Many of our students, especially graduates, spend their holidays at sea. And this is a symbolic gesture. We will cultivate this tradition. I have emphasized many times that we have a large inscription “Gdynia” on the stern and we would like to be close to the inhabitants of Gdynia.
