120th anniversary of the Gdańsk University of Technology

The Gdańsk University of Technology will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2024. The first students began their studies at higher technical studies in Gdańsk in 1904. The plan for celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of the Gdańsk University of Technology was presented by the Rector of the Gdańsk University of Technology, prof. Krzysztof Wilde.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the university authorities as well as scientists, PhD students and students. The guests of honor were the directors of the best technical schools and high schools from Pomerania. The University Day is scheduled for June 20-22. There will then be a meeting of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities and a meeting of graduates of the Gdańsk University of Technology. Dragon boat races for the Rector’s Cup were planned. There will be a concert for residents and tourists.
The GUT Eco-innovation Center will be opened in autumn 2024. It will be one of the most modern facilities in Europe serving “green” innovations and technologies. There will be an open-air concert on the square in front of the Main Building (June), the premiere of a film about the famous scientist from GUT, doc. Marianna Sankiewicz (February), Baltic Science Festival (May), Young Scientist Day (May or June), summer school for secondary school students “Politechnika Talentów” (September).
