Nauta Shipyard completes the repair of ORP Nakło (640) 50 days earlier than planned. The Polish Navy handed over 3 mine destroyers for repair. Ship renovations are carried out by the consortium of PGZ S.A., PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Sp. z o. o. and Stocznia Remontowa Nauta S.A.
All three minesweepers are part of the 12th Minesweeper Squadron of the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla in Świnoujście. The Świnoujście Naval Port Command sent ships for repair to the shipyards operating in Gdynia. The shipyards have approximately 100 years of experience in repairing warships.
The minesweeper ORP Necko (639) was renovated at the Gdynia Military Shipyard. After repairs, the minesweeper was handed over to the Polish Navy in January 2024.
Modern eight-cylinder Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG MTU 8V2000 M72 diesel engines were used as part of the modernization in the main power plants of minesweepers. The new drive engines provide a power of 720 kW. The engine control center on the ships has been modernized. Power generators and navigation systems on minesweepers were replaced. Maintenance of the hull and superstructure was also carried out.
